Must possess or obtain (within 6 months of employment) and maintain most applicable Computing Environment (CE) certificates of training and a minimum Information Assurance baseline security certification of Security+ equivalent (or higher certification) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Technical, Level II technicians.
Performs work that involves planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and/or maintenance of hardware or software systems using standard principles, theories, concepts and methods for systems administration. Implements security plans, policies, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Utilizes diagnostic tools and techniques to verify operability, optimize the functionality of networks and/or systems, and to diagnose/recover failed systems. Carries out routine maintenance, upgrade, and support of hardware, operating systems, and/or applications software. Provides ongoing optimization and problem-solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.
Manages network rights and access to systems and equipment. Interprets and applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services. Prepares and presents reports and briefings to technical staff.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.
Specialized IT experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training or IT certification which demonstrates skill in applying: Principles and methods for integrating information systems components; Performance tuning tools and techniques; System diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; Systems administration methods; and IT security principles.
OR
Completion of a master's degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree in computer science/engineering, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours as indicated above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
Ability to perform work while being attentive to detail.
Ability to work with clients and customers to assess their needs and
provide information assistance.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and able to make convincing presentations.
Ability to solve problems by identifying the problem(s) and use sound
judgment to evaluate, offer recommendations, and implement solutions.
