Duties

Help
  • Conduct research and analyses of various minerals-related cases and apply applicable statutes, regulations, and policies.
  • Apply terms of lease based on various conditions and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain contact with various applicants, partner agencies, and other colleagues through standard mail, electronic media, and phone.
  • Query and assemble data from various sources for reports and for other specialists' reference.
  • Maintain accurate and complete case files, including hardcopy and electronic.

Qualifications

For GS-05:
You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: maintaining office records and files; locating and compiling data or information from files; compiling data for reports; and assembling case files. OR

Education: Have completed 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. I will provide a copy of my college transcript. OR

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

For GS-06:
You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: applying appropriate terms and conditions to a case based upon facts presented and applicable law, regulation, and policy; receiving, reviewing, and verifying a variety of legal instruments/documents and supporting documents for completeness; responding to inquiries, both written and oral, about program matters; and assembling case files.

For GS-07:
You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: analyzing a lease or other lands or minerals case and determining the appropriate course of action; compiling information from multiple sources to support a recommended action or resolve conflict; composing correspondence regarding complex cases or controversial actions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

Education

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
