Performs work that involves planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and/or maintenance of hardware or software systems using standard principles, theories, concepts and methods for systems administration. Implements security plans, policies, and preventive maintenance schedules. Utilizes diagnostic tools and techniques to verify operability, optimize the functionality of networks and/or systems, and to diagnose/recover failed systems. Carries out routine maintenance, upgrade, and support of hardware, operating systems, and/or applications software. Provides ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities. Manages network rights and access to systems and equipment. Interprets and applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services. Prepares and presents reports and briefings to technical staff.
Must possess or obtain (within 6 months of employment) and maintain Microsoft Certified System Associate (MCSA) Windows Server/Windows 10 OR Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate certification and a minimum Information Assurance baseline security certification of Security+ equivalent (or higher certification) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Technical, Level II technicians.
Specialized IT experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training or IT certification which demonstrates skill in applying: Principles and methods for integrating information systems components; Performance tuning tools and techniques; System diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; Systems administration methods; and IT security principles.

- At least 3 years of experience performing in a System Administration, Desktop Technician, or IT Helpdesk role.
- Knowledge and skill in principles and methods for integrating information systems components, such as basic networking fundamentals including subnetting, and/or switch and server configuration.
- Knowledge and skill in performance tuning tools and techniques such as a server hardware replacement, and/or network and cabling diagnostics.
- Knowledge and skill in system diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques.
- Knowledge and skill in systems administration methods, such as server configuration, and/or management of Active Directory/Azure, Group Policy, Domain Name System (DNS), or Exchange Server Management/Office 365.
- Knowledge and skill in IT security principles, such as system hardening, STIGS, conducting security audits, and/or vulnerability checks.
- Experience in implementing, testing, restoring, and performing system backups.
- Experience performing desktop support, customer service, or helpdesk tasks.
- Information Technology experience in a hotel environment.
- Experience with Point of Sales system and Property Management systems
- Experience working with virtualization platforms, including but not limited to Hyper-V and VMWare.
- Experience with Windows Server platform, including Windows Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2 or Server 2016.
- Experience and strong knowledge using Microsoft desktop applications such as Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
