Duties

Help

As a Director Communications and Congressional Relations Division, you will:

  • Develop an overall marketing and communications strategy for the corporation and to develop an implementation plan for the strategy. The incumbent has primary responsibility for developing and implementing media relations and public relations plans including issue spotting and response mechanisms.
  • Develop and implement external communications policies and procedures for the corporation.
  • Develop and implement media and public relations plans; coordinates all media activity and internal contacts with the Office of Public Affairs; acts as the corporations' spokesperson as required.
  • Assure the development of visual materials and other mediums to educate and promote the array of programs for promotional activities as well as to provide general public information, including tailored packages to address marketing needs.
  • Serve as the organization's primary liaison with the media and the HUD Office of Public Affairs. --Coordinate with all appropriate parties to assure the effective use of Ginnie Mae's Web page as a primary marketing tool.

The official duty station for this position will be in Washington, District of Columbia. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: To be qualified for this position at the GS-15 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level. This experience is defined as:

- Leading the communications and marketing strategy for a corporation or government agency; AND
- Developing and writing communications for senior executive leadership, including keynote addresses, speeches, talking points, remarks, and Q&A; AND
- Developing and implementing social media relations and public relations plans, including issue spotting and response mechanisms; AND
- Managing a communication team responsible for enterprise communications.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
