Duties

Help
  • As an Supervisory Investigative Analyst, GS-1805-14, your typical duties may include the following:
  • Establishes, develops, maintains, and provides standardized and ad hoc statistical reports, using spreadsheets, pivot tables, and other functions, for internal and external audiences.
  • Supervises and manages the name check process. Ensures case data is current and accurate in D-CATS to ensure proper reporting.
  • Coordinates with Service IG offices, the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, and other DoD offices to ensure the accuracy of the name check process.
  • Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and employee capabilities; provides technical oversight and reviews work products.
  • Manages database quality control and routine checks of the completeness and accuracy of the data entered in the data base to ensure data integrity.
  • Leads the generation of graphics, dashboard and views of program statistics to guide personnel in the accomplishment of business processes and functions.
  • Represents the interests of the directorate in the implementation of the enterprise-wide case management system to the other major DoD components, including identifying and testing requirements to develop functionalities of the CRM-based system.
  • Guides the data team in assessing system capabilities, recommending and making system changes for improvements, coordinating system needs and changes with other business units, the Program Management Office, and the vendor.
  • Trains directorate personnel in the use of the case management system and develops and delivers training and writes user guides.

  • Position has been designated as Secret. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
  • Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
  • All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Applicants who have held a non-temporary General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the time-in-grade restriction.
  • Relocation allowance WILL NOT be authorized.
  • The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.

Qualifications

Time in Grade:

For entry at the GS-14 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-13 or equivalent or higher grade, in the Federal Service.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized at the GS-14 level in the federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated work experience developing statistical reports for internal and external stakeholders; developing policies and procedures related to the case management system that accurately reflect and support the directorate's business processes. Providing technical support to ISO personnel on the case management system, including developing and delivering training, user guides, and customized dashboards; identifying data entry errors and ensuring they are corrected; developing user stories and testing functionality in the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide CRM-based case management system; and cultivating vital contacts among the wider user community to plan and coordinate work and resolve differences.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat this grade level.
