Duties

Help
  • Coordinate with customers to provide support during the construction phases of projects.
  • Advise on preparation of estimates for contract modifications for contractor approval.
  • Operate as a designer for improvement projects throughout the organization.
  • Perform data reduction involving field measurements for final dimensioning.
  • Maintain records for construction projects in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure the infrastructure of the organization is running efficiently.
  • Function as a Construction Quality Assurance Evaluator on construction projects.
  • Perform technical inspections to ensure the contractor is performing work in accordance with the plans.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Work requires some physical exertion, long periods of standing, walking over rough surfaces, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, or climbing, regular visits to construction or other outdoor sites.
  • Recurring lifting of light to moderately heavy items weighing less than 40 pounds may be required.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Must obtain the Contracting Officer Representative certification within 90 days.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year experience which includes experience assisting in civil work projects such as sidewalk construction, soil compaction testing, roadway construction, underground utilities, utilizing testing/measuring equipment; managing construction contracts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
