DUTY STATION STATEMENT: The duty location is negotiable within the Western Region states listed below.
Western Region states are Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Selectees who currently reside or relocate within commuting distance of the Western Regional Office in Tempe, AZ will work out of the regional office.
As a Credit Union Examiner (Supervision Analyst), you will:
Provide a comprehensive review and quality control analysis of examination reports by field staff on federal credit unions.
Identify federally insured state credit union operational problems based on the review of state examination and audit reports, insurance reviews and financial reports, Financial Performance Reports and computer-generated reports; recognize trends and develop programs, policies and written guidelines for dealing with supervisory and examination issues.
Analyze financial data and prepare reports to agency management on current and projected credit union conditions; and consider adequacy of capital structure, volume of sub-standard assets, earning power, dividend and charge-off policies, loan and investment standards, credit union history and competitive position in the community, and conformance to laws and regulations.
Analyze merger and liquidation plans, and prepare recommendations to the Division Director concerning administrative actions if necessary to conclude the liquidation.
Respond to the division's most complicated correspondence and telephone inquiries.
Serve as acting Director in the Director's or Deputy Director's absence.
Suitable adjudication of background/security investigation is required.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
To qualify at the CU-13 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include:
(1) performing examinations conducted on credit unions or other federally insured depository institutions rated CAMEL 3, 4 or 5;
(2) performing examinations conducted on credit unions or other federally insured depository institutions with assets larger than $250 million;
(3) analyzing financial data to support an examination's conclusions;
(4) analyzing financial statements and statistical reports to identify trends in federally insured depository institutions; and
(5) serving as a subject matter examiner in specialized lending, consumer compliance, information systems technology, internal controls/recordkeeping, capital markets or electronic payment systems.

SALARY: Pay will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's National Pay Rate (NPR) which includes a locality rate of 16.32% for the Rest of the U.S. (RUS) geographical area. Actual salary will be determined upon the location of selectee and the applicable locality pay, per the NCUA's CU pay table, will be applied.
