You will be involved in the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the systems environment in support of the organizations IT architecture and business needs.
You will operate computer systems including performing backups, software installations, hardware installations/modifications, system scanning and patching, security vulnerability remediation.
You will develop, maintain, and improve efficiency and functionality in multi-platform, multi-site networks.
You will manage procurement actions in support of approved plans and daily maintenance.
You will provide technical user support to both local and Fleet personnel.

This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239 within 12 months of appointment.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must reflect one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies:

In addition, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band (GS-5-8 or DS-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience includes the following: 1) Testing and managing systems in support of business needs; 2) Performing backups, software and hardware installation, and scanning for security vulnerabilities; and 3) Performing day-to-day technical operation and maintenance of computer systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
The following education is qualifying and may be substitutedin lieu of experience:
Successful completion of a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
