Duties

Help
  • You will perform various duties involving the control, processing, and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • You will screen outgoing mail for proper addressing and ensures compliance with procedural requirements and postal regulations.
  • You will separate mail for internal or external distribution and by class of mail
  • You will process and consolidate mail to ensure it is transported at the lowest cost possible while at the same time meeting delivery and handling standards.
  • You will operate automated information technology and mail processing equipment and copiers in support of mail processing functions.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
  • This position may be coded as ?key? and as such you may be required be removed from your military recall status. A signed statement of understanding is required.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that has equipped me with the basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform basic mail and file processing and control procedures. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Process and handle mail by applying general policies and regulations; 2) Deliver correspondence and mail; 3) Process mail by operating automated machinery; and 4) Maintain records and files.

Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess 4 years of education above high school.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
