Duties

Help
  • Provide management, supervision, oversight, and direction to the subordinate staff of the Branch in providing Information Technology (IT) services and support throughout NCI.
  • Oversee management of desktop and IT operations incident response, ensuring close collaboration with the Security team.
  • Run and maintain IT operations through all or some of the following: IT service management, vendor management, shared IT services, data center, telecommunications and security.
  • Provide technical guidance, leadership, supervision, and direction to the subordinate staff of the Branch through multiple supervisors and professional and support staff to achieve objectives.
  • Develop and justify estimates for resource requirements for the Branch, including personnel, funding, equipment, support contractors, and office space.
  • Develop the Branch's annual budget plans and budget justifications, and subsequently manages approved budgets.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the education requirement and specialized experience listed below.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree in computer science OR bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus; and that provided sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: managing IT services and support functions for an organization; developing strategies for implementation of new technologies and IT infrastructure modernization; integrating cybersecurity services, infrastructure and operations with an organization's overall IT enterprise security strategy; AND leading and directing other staff.
