This National Guard position is for a Aircraft Engine Mechanic, Position Description Number D1636000 and is part of the WY 153rd Maintenance Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard.
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, remove, repair, install, certify, test and perform operational checks on the turboprop engines, propellers, and associated propulsion system components.
(1) Removes, installs, certifies, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and installs turboprop engines, reduction gear boxes, turbine modules, compressor modules, auxiliary power units, propellers and related propeller components as required.
(2) Modifies engines, propellers, auxiliary power units, and components in accordance with Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) directives; removes and installs engine quick change kits; prepares engines for installation and installs engine and propeller assemblies on aircraft.
(3) Performs operational checks of installed propellers, engines, auxiliary power units and sub-systems during aircraft maintenance ground runs in accordance with approved checklists.
(4) Performs isochronal and special evaluations on engines, propellers and auxiliary power units.
(5) Performs aircraft full power runs and complete engine and propeller efficiency checks.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Primary consideration will be given to current WY ANG military members. If required, additional areas of consideration certificates may be released to hiring managers.
Open to Air Force, AF Reserves, and Air Nat'l Guard military mbrs only
Must become a member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt.
Must submit vMPF Rip/Data Verification Rip with application.

May be required to successfully complete a 1-year probationary period.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.

Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).

PCS is not authorized in lieu of incentives.
Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician.
Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153rd Maintenance Squadron Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current and prior service military members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least 18 months experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.
NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Must possess or be eligible to retrain into AFSC 2A6X1, Aerospace Propulsion.

Must possess a minimum score of "56" on the Mechanical portion of the ASVAB.
Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than 333132.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. unassisted.
DRIVER'S LICENSE:
