Summary

You will assist in the development and implementation of museum functions including exhibitions, special events, public programs, visitor inquiries, opening and or closing of museum, visitor demographic analysis, and group visits.
You will aid in visitor access and provide public information on weekends.
You will serve as a personal representative and telephone contact for the Museum.
You will answer general inquiries on historical property within the collection and answer public requests for information about the museum and its collection.
You will refer visitors or incoming phone calls to the appropriate staff member or other branches of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum.
You will coordinate public and non-public program special events in the museum.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector related to the operation or management of a history museum using knowledge of U.S. Naval History and Heritage, American History, and/or American Material Culture to perform the following: Answering public inquiries and facilitating events; monitoring or securing exhibit areas; communicating orally and in writing on subjects related to museum exhibits/collections or concomitant
subject matter; aiding with programs and events of a public and non-public nature.
