Duties

Help

As an INSPECTIONS SPECIALIST (INSPECTION COORDINATOR), GS-1801-9, you will:

  • As part of the Wing IG team to plans, organizes, and executes a wide range of complex activities for the wing/center Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP), and the Exercise and Evaluation Program which may include exercises such as active shooter exercises, emergency response exercises that involve coordination with a wide variety of programs and departments.
  • Serves as the Wing Self-Assessment Program Manager and MICT administrator.
  • Ensures the Wing Inspection Team (WIT) members are prepared to conduct the CCIP and organizes the wing/center inspection and exercise calendar.
  • Performs thorough analysis of unit capabilities versus inspection requirements to determine the most efficient exercise, inspection, and visit schedules, which minimize costs and maximize unit readiness.
  • Facilitates logistical and administrative support needed for the execution of Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP).
  • Assists Complaints Resolution office in providing advisory services to individuals, other staff offices, managers, supervisors and employees concerning the IG program and processes.
  • Represents the Wing IG Superintendent and the Inspections Directorate at conferences, meetings, seminars, briefings, and other official functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Qualifications

General Experience:

  • Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately;
  • Knowledgeable of applicable laws, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures;
  • Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communications;
  • Skilled interpersonal communications, empathy, and effective listening;
  • Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats;
  • Ability to communicate -orally and in writing- clearly and effectively;
  • Ability to organize thoughts, research materials, and manage case projects; and
  • Skilled in comprehending and interpreting directives and laws.
Specialized Experience:

Defined as specified experiences that prepared the applicant to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities, with the required competency level, as defined by the applicable position description. Each applicant must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for dual status technician appointment to one of the six Series GS-1801 program positions with its applicable career level, as cited on pages two and three. Applicants must have the experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, policies and procedures. Applicants must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to perform and learn the cited duties.

Education

Must possess a CCAF degree, or civilian equivalent, in primary AFSC and be current in all Professional Military
Education commensurate with current grade
