In this position, you will serve as a Program Specialist within ISD's Office of Security Programs. This position is vital to the organization as it provides on-going assessment of management processes and systems. This person will also engage in policy analysis and stakeholder support in the accomplishment of critical infrastructure and resilience missions. Typical work assignments may include:

  • Serving as a program specialist analyzing policy/program issues related to stakeholder engagement or communications in support of accomplishing critical infrastructure and resilience missions:
  • Providing continuous review, analysis, and monitoring of programs, plans and activities;
  • Ensuring plans, programs, and communication activities are consistently implemented and that timely and appropriate corrective actions are taken to meet and exceed customer and partner expectations;
  • Serving as a liaison with intelligence, technology, and stakeholder organizations and associations, keeping abreast of infrastructure security programs and legislative actions relative to active assailant/securing public gatherings;
  • Representing the office at meetings, conferences, and other forums with key government officials, industry academia, and/or other stakeholders;
  • Supporting division staff in identifying program issues or problems in assigned programs, makes recommendations to leadership, and coordinates resolutions and improvements;
  • Assisting in the drafting of decision papers on recommended mitigation solutions to advance national priorities;
  • Developing memos, talking points, briefings, and/or training or other correspondence for various internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience necessary as noted below.

Specialized Experience for
GS-12: You may qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level performing the following duties:

  1. Providing on-going analysis and monitoring of infrastructure security programs which provide risk management guidance and resources addressing human, physical, and cyber threat vectors;
  2. Assisting in drafting of decision papers, developing memos, talking points, briefings, and/or other correspondence for various audiences;
  3. Serving as a liaison to varied infrastructure security stakeholders-providing mitigation information regarding active assailant/securing public gatherings against active shooter threats, vehicle ramming, and edged weapon attacks;
  4. Physical security experience coordinating, planning, facilitating, and executing workshops, webinars, exercises regarding active assailant/securing public gatherings programs.
