Temporary promotion - or Detail NTE 120 days and may be extended in 120-day increments up to one year without further competition; the total duration of this temporary opportunity could be less than one year. See Other Information Section for further information.
Supervises three Federal employees and provides oversight to a team of 8-10 contracted support personnel.
Manages the agency’s hybrid, on-site and remote meetings.
Studies program operations, provides administrative decisions, and determines the need for new program requirements, or new or improved guidance and policies for conference room use, and the use of information technologies in conference rooms, in the form of standard operating procedures or formal bulletins.
Identifies and assesses customer needs, developing long and short-range plans to meet these needs in a cost-effective manner and overseeing the implementation and management of accepted solutions. Advise the Branch Chief on trends, propose solutions to problems, and suggests improvements to business processes.
Provides upper management with normal business reports, ad-hoc report requests, and emerging trends regarding the reservation system.
Develops metrics to assess program performance, develop other criteria to evaluate and measure effectiveness of program activities, and recommend improvements to section planning processes, performance and organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training to find ways to improve production or increase the quality of the conference services provided.
Oversees major contracts worth several million dollars over their lifetimes for conference and meeting support.
Participates in cross-section or directorate event planning with Program Directors, Administrative Officers, member of the science directorates, panelists and other special visitors to enhance program continuity and support for collaborative ventures.

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: overseeing conference room operations to include managing a videoconferencing program and developing recommendations for new programs or improving conference room facilities for customers; being responsible for contracts related to conference room support or being involved with meeting and events planning to include monitoring budgets and expenditures.

* Upon conclusion of the detail/temporary promotion, you will be returned to your former office and position/grade.
