Duties

Help
  • e as an Instructor for the SKIES Unlimited program. Develop lesson plans - curriculum including objective, skills median, supply list and indicate
  • Provide instruction using a variety of techniques and interventions based on the age, skill level and learning style of each child.
  • Provide recommendations in scheduling, class offerings (following ratios ) and equipment/materials purchase to supervisor.
  • Maintains control of and accounts for the participant's safety. Keep attendance to date by checking roll at the beginning of every class session.
  • Demonstrate MWR Customer Service elements when working with parents, students, coworkers and supervisors. Complete all Army, MWR and CYS
  • Check phone and email addresses to ensure Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) is current. Write monthly newsletters, help with inventory and other art classes being offered.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position.
  • Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
  • A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
  • Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check.
  • Complete and signed DA 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.

Qualifications

1. Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.6. Demonstrated skill/evidence of competence in instructional area of art.

Preferred are those candidates who possess a Professional Certificates/Credentials; or Associates Degree or higher with 15 semester hours of college credit in the art.

In addition to the qualifications listed above, applications with the following experience will be considered highly preferred and may be sent first for consideration.

  • Have at least 2 years teaching children ages 18 months to 18 years.
  • Have a current Certification or show 5 years of experience in Art.
  • Ability to teach after school and weekends hours.
  • Enjoy being with and teaching skills to children of all ages.
  • Gather Children's art from class, label, frame and inventory and set up museum style art shows twice a year. Then return art to children
