Duties

Help
  • Duties are performed independently in accordance with accepted trade practices and guides.
  • Waiters are assigned stations by the supervisor and given any special instructions necessary.
  • Take orders placed by guest for alcohol, non-alcoholic beverages and food items from menus.
  • Required to be fully familiar with all food items available and all beverage items available for guest consumption.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactorily complete all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
  • Satisfactorily complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours annual refresher training.
  • This position is eligible to receive gratuities (tips) based on the type of event(s) and performance.
  • The availability to work rotating shifts which may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods. Continually lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications

  1. Meet state/local age requirements for serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment. (Age 18 no later than 2 weeks after submitting a completed application packet).
  2. Possess basic math skills necessary to compute patron bills and make change.
  3. Be able to communicate effectively in English.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: The ability to follow oral and written instructions and prepare guest checks.

This position is a Flexible (Flex) position and there are 0 guaranteed hours per week. Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits. There is no upper limit to the number of hours a flexible employee may work (subject to overtime obligations and work scheduling requirements).
