Duties

Help

As a PROJECT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-09-01, you will:

  • Coordinates, analyzes, directs, and evaluates one-of-a-kind and non-recurring projects/programs and operations.
  • Assembles background information, drafts portions of response as appropriate
  • Determines actions needed by other staff elements and follows-up to ensure responses are complete and timely, resolves conflicts, and refers only the most significant problems for resolution.
  • Implements procedures for the control, maintenance and disposition of records relating to projects/programs.
  • Composes and prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, records, briefing materials, and statistical and narrative material required to support the project/program.
  • Reviews and evaluates projects and action items received by the office.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

General Experience:
Must have knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources.

Specialized Experience:
Must have 24 months of experience in in the following:

  • Helping people work-out plans for improving the situation
  • Interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems
  • Referring people to community resources and other organizations as indicated
  • knowledge of a wide range of administrative and program/project requirements sufficient to ensure the team meets all program/project requirements and to serve as a point of contact for inquiries or taskings that arise for the program/project.
  • Knowledge in developing new or modified work procedures for administering services, guidelines and procedures and automating work processes
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
