As a Health Scientist Administrator you will provide technical leadership and guidance in the refinement implementation, and administration of procedures for listing Patient Safety Organizations (PSO) and their associated activities.
Specifically, you will:
Serve as the Deputy Director of the PSO Division and support the Division Director in planning, developing, and organizing the Patient Safety Organization programs.
Participate in Division efforts to implement procedures to ensure that Patient Safety Organizations are in full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Provide expert patient safety knowledge in the development of common definitions for patient safety event reporting and surveillance, known as Common Formats.
Provide expert patient safety knowledge to the continued development of the Patient Safety Organizations Privacy Protection Center (PSOPPC) and data systems related to the Common Formats, including the Network of Patient Safety Databases (NPSD) and Quality and Safety Review System (QSRS).

Education: You must have a Bachelor's or graduate/higher degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position being advertised. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Evaluating the impact of organizational goals and operational plans related to the improvement of patient safety and health care quality programs involving Patient Safety Organizations;

Reviewing, analyzing and synthesizing patient safety data, such as data in the Common Formats or Network of Patient Safety Databases, to enhance the delivery of health care services.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
