Duties

Help

This position is with the 162nd Air Wing, located in Tucson, Arizona. The primary purpose is to direct the performance of the Asset Management Section, Maintenance Support Section, and Customer Support Section to include the management, direction and supervision of assigned employees.

  • ARIZONA AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Air National Guard, in a military position assigned to 162d WG.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver?s license.
  • This position is subject to rotating or night shift work.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E7/MSgt (immediately promotable)-E8/SMSgt

Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC 2S0X1

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 30 months experience, education, or training in managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.

4. Knowledge and skill to plan and direct all Asset Management Section, Maintenance Support Section, and Customer Support Section functions to provide all logistical support required by the wing and supported organizations.

5. Knowledge to research and determine or recommend appropriate actions or interpretation of issues impacting supporting organizations.
