Duties

Help

  • Coordinates and facilitates arrangements for conferences, seminars, meetings, and special events, ranging from small to large, both on and off-site, as required.
  • Prepares required paperwork, obtains necessary approvals, manages logistics and coordinates travel arrangements for participants and speakers, site/venue reservations, event advertisement, audio visual/information technology support, registration, and at-meeting support.
  • Individual will prepare documentation for review/approval by NIST Conference Program Office, coordinates the preparation and approval of travel authorizations when necessary, and work with travelers to review/approve post-travel documentation and reconciliations invoices for payment.
  • Individual will develop, recommend, and implement processes and procedures for planning, receiving approval for and operating meetings/conferences, and similar events within the CHIPS R&D Office.

Qualifications

This position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-2 at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as: Executing a variety of public affairs activities to include maintaining relationships with respective stakeholders, developing communication approaches in written material and presentations, and preparing coordination of organizational events.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application. The qualification requirements in this vacancy announcement are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook.
