The Assistant Director - Information Security Officer position oversees the operation of the information security program within the Court; acts as the administrative and technical authority for all matters involving information security. This responsibility encompasses systems currently in use and those in the planning and development stages. Responsible for the oversight of: policy development and administration, security audit and control functions, security analysis, operation of intrusion detection and associated monitoring systems, incident response capabilities, systems security patch processes and awareness training. Serves as the lead for systems security architecture and design review to ensure systems development and automation projects under development are in adherence with generally accepted security principles. Provides oversight for risk assessments, systems certification and accreditation, penetration testing and provides analysis recommendations for mitigation.
This individual represents the Court in security forums and working groups to ensure collaborative working relationships with other government organizations dealing with information security. This position is integral to the Court's COOP planning, testing and readiness initiatives.
10 years' experience in the Information Security field, 5 years' experience in Information Security management with demonstrated experience developing, planning, organizing and reviewing all aspects relating to security program management. Knowledge of security and privacy laws and regulations that apply to Federal IT operations. Knowledge of current tools used in the monitoring and alerting of anomalies relating to attempts to gain unauthorized access to systems. Must be capable of obtaining a TS level clearance. Must have strong technical background to include hands-on experience with information security hardware appliances and software tools. In addition, hands-on experience with server and network hardware is a plus. The candidate must be able to demonstrate management experience in an Information Security organization.
BS degree desirable in Information Security or similar discipline.
