Help

Serves as an External Affairs Specialist and supports the CHIPS Program Office's communications, public engagement, intergovernmental affairs, and/or congressional outreach. Duties include assisting with drafting and editing collateral, crafting and tracking outreach plans, collecting and distributing press clips, providing administrative and logistical support, helping manage web and social media content, planning and executing events, and conducting research to support development of other materials.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level (ZA-II at NIST) in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing any of the following areas: the ability to conduct independent research, filter and synthesize data, and produce clear, logical, and concise products, preferably with digital experience to support development of social media copy, graphics, and video.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application. The qualification requirements in this vacancy announcement are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook.
