  • Administers and evaluates permits, including pre-application consultation,evaluating applications, and monitoring permit compliance.
  • Coordinate proposed projects with the applicant, their agent, consultants, or attorneys; thegeneral public, and elected officials such as Federal and State governmental representatives, andother governmental agencies.
  • Investigate unauthorized work.
  • Develop and determine appropriate enforcement actions, including estimating the possible response and outcome.
  • Develop, implement, and administer program initiatives and requirements such as local permit or enforcement operating procedures,
  • Prepare scope of work and government estimates; ensuring the contract award occurs.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 20% of the time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying governing public laws to include the Clean Water Act, Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, Endangered Species Act, Magnuson- Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, National Historic Preservation Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act; managing Regulatory permit workload including pre-application consultations, evaluation of permit applications, monitoring of permit compliance, and violations and enforcement actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
