Duties

Help
  • Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment. Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc.
  • Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities. Cleans, and dusts assigned areas. Empties trash. May make beds and changes linen.
  • Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt. Moves heavy furniture. Maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties.

Qualifications

1. Must have knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties listed above to include the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the
trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean, and to communicate both orally and in writing.

2. Must have the ability to follow instructions and read signs.

3.Must have a basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment.

4.Must know the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and must be able to remove different kinds of stains from a wide
variety of surfaces.

5.. Must be able to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment.

Destin Army Recreation Area is a gated resort in the heart of Old Destin, near the Harbor Walk Village, just 220 miles south of Fort Benning, between Pensacola and Panama City. The resort spans 15 acres along the Choctawhatchee Bay, minutes from the Gulf of Mexico.

The Destin Army Recreation Area is open year round to active duty and retired military personnel, their families and DoD civilians. Destin is a city located in Okaloosa County, Florida. It is a principal city of the Crestview-Fort Walton Beach-Destin, Florida, and metropolitan area. Located on Florida's Emerald Coast, Destin is known for its white beaches and emerald green waters.

This position is a flexible position. Flexible positions will normally be scheduled 0-40 hours per week dependent upon the needs of the organization. There is no set guaranteed number of hours for flexible positions.
