Summary

This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program for activities in the Commander Navy Region Southwest (NRSW). The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the operation, custody and maintenance of the Golf Car Fleet.

Duties

Help

  • Responsible for the administration, operation, custody and maintenance of the Golf Car Fleet and associated equipment.
  • Work involves weekly/monthly service of golf car fleets at Regional Golf Properties including troubleshooting, repairing and /or overhauling major components and systems such as electric/gas engines, transmissions, differentials and transaxles, suspensions, related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel, and other assemblies.
  • Tears down, adjust, repairs, reassembles, and runs operational checks on components of these systems following instructions contained in technical manuals.
  • Orders and maintain parts and tool inventories.
  • Responsible to provide Golf Car Fleet service to other MWR and Base programs that operate electric or small gas vehicles. This service to include monthly service, repair, troubleshooting and other required repairs.
  • Responsible for estimating and writing complex bids submissions for service to other programs.
  • Supervises mechanics, operational vans, on board parts and tool inventories prepares a daily dispatch plan and assures that all vans are stocked with necessary part and tools to complete dispatched job numbers.
  • Maintains accounting record for all parts ordered and received. Submits invoices for payment of all monthly service and repair work completed. Responsible for accurate close to the end of the month: including program revenue totals, inventory count and update, inventory cost of goods, payment of all payables and receivables.
  • Responsible for financial self sufficiency of the Regional Golf Car Operations and observes safety, sanitation and hazardous waste disposal rules and requirements of the region.
  • Operates vehicles to test repair and move around facility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Lifts supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Must have and maintain current Certification for small electric and gas vehicles.
  • Required knowledge of the makeup, operation, and installation of complex major golf car vehicle systems and assemblies to troubleshoot and repair systems such as: gas and electric maintenance and golf car vehicles, transmissions, front end, rear end, drive lines, electrical, batteries, ignition, steering, wheel, tire, body, canopies, breaking system, charging, carberation system, cooling system, emission control systems, hydraulic and power-assist systems and other similar systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and replace standard electronic components of systems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply manufactures repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics and engineering drawings, diagnostic codes, computer printouts, and safety manuals. Skill in the use of hand/power tools, and electronic test equipment.
  • Must be able to provide accurate written estimates/bids for service/re-occurring services and one time repairs.
  • Experience in inventory control and ordering. Must have an understanding of accounting basic principles. A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to maintain financial records and budget.
  • Must possess knowledge of proper hazardous waste handling.
