If you are selected for this position, your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short term, priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Evaluating work performance of subordinates.
  • Conducting formal and informal management planning, policy and decision-making sessions with senior managers and technical specialists on administrative and technical changes in management information systems.
  • Evaluating new administrative clinical systems to determine applicability of protection under the Privacy Act and monitors adherence to those requirements. When applicable, partners with project managers and system administrators to ensure compliance with Privacy Act, HIPAA regulations and applicable Public Health Service Acts during system implementation and annual system reviews.

  • Ensuring that all IT change requests, initiatives, and projects follow established governance processes, including those relating to configuration management change control boards (CCBs) and the IT Advisory Group (ITAG) committee and subcommittees.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: Have IT related experience demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector, and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates that I possess each of the following four competencies: 1. Attention to Detail - is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; 4. Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. And you must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector in the IT field or through performing the following types of tasks: Supervising a staff of information technology specialists and managing enterprise systems including projects that vary in size, focus and complexity and involve collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.
