Duties

Help

The primary purpose of the position is to provide management with objectively based information to effectively assess the squadron's ability to meet the operations, training, and readiness missions in support of fielding a complex air ground operations tactical communications-electronics weapons system. Independently evaluates the effectiveness of unit commanders programs and processes in meeting their established goals and objectives. Evaluates mission effectiveness, using standardized and local evaluation programs and processes developed by the Air Support operations Group in the form of Operating Instructions, and administered to the squadrons. Analyzes and evaluates all Group and Squadron resources, including manpower, equipment and budgeting management; recommending future changes to the commander, NGB representatives, Active Components, and Coalition Forces when resources affect training and mission objectives. Applies statistical analysis techniques to training requirements to determine future efficiencies issues and recommends courses of actions to increase training opportunities and budget efficiencies associated with unit training. Interprets a variety of operational and administration requirements making independent judgments to determine organizational compliance with Air Force, Air National Guard Instructions, procedures and practices. Advises supervisors and managers on the evaluation of programs, policies, regulatory requirements, and procedures. Provides the commander and supervisors with compliance and performance assessments, giving the squadrons an objective perspective of their policies and procedures. Develops process, management, administrative and technical evaluation plans for implementation. Recommends internal reporting and status tracking procedures to ensure adequate control in terms of deadlines, progress reports, and follow-up reports. Ensures ground industrial safety, fire prevention and security standards are being followed. Consults with and provides advice to planning and implementation (P&I) function on relevant issues. Prepares and maintain files and publications IAW current directives to include both paper and electronic media. Coordinates with higher headquarters (HHQ) elements, Program Management Offices, Specific System/Hardware Support Elements, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vendors and vendor contracted support facilities for issue resolution. Reviews technical periodicals, publications, commercial standards, and attends seminars. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer.
  • Must hold the grade of E-1 thru O-3. This is also a commissioning opportunity.
  • Compatible Military Assignment: 38FX AFSC or able to obtain it within one year.
  • Submit all required documentation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-1 thru O-3/Commissioning Opportunity

Compatible Military Assignments: 38FX AFSC or able to obtain it within one year

1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience which provided a detailed knowledge of the National Guard organizational structures, functions, procedures and techniques.

2. Experience analyzing and interpreting policies and the procedures of higher headquarters/management as to applicability to current policies.

3. Experience presenting and discussing complex matters in a clear and convincing manner.

4. Experience in communicating with people from various backgrounds and circumstances.

5. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed.

6. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Education

Substitution of Education for specialized experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets 6 months specialized experience.
