Duties

Help

  • Analyze and evaluate, on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals and objectives; and analyze and integrate program financial, technical, and other information.
  • Analyze organizational priorities and provide a wide range of liaison services to support program and/or administrative functions, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Define goals to be met on major program issues, recommend a course of action, and implement the course of action chosen for various administrative areas of the organization, such as budget and fiscal management, supply, service and equipment procurement, personnel and workforce utilization, contract negotiation, construction and renovation, or space utilization.
  • Serve as an expert program analyst and provides assistance in one or more of the following areas: policy analysis, program oversight, evaluation activities, strategic planning, and research coordination.
  • Evaluate the content of new or modified legislation, and/or agency policies and procedures for projected impact upon programs and resources.
If you are selected at the GS-12 or GS-13 level, you will essentially perform the same duties as those at the full performance level described above, however, duties are less complex and will be performed under closer supervision with more detailed guidance.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of organizational programs; performing studies and analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of financial and budgeting operations; implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; and recommending and implementing operations solutions to senior management.

You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: employing advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze and measure the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of organizational programs, and interpreting findings resulting from studies; leading studies and analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of financial and budgeting operations; establishing study methods and techniques to be utilized in complex studies and audits; and developing study objectives related to program operations, and recommending and implementing operations solutions to senior management.

You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
