Duties

Help

As a Communication & Information Coordinator (Public Notice Flyer), you will:

Administration:

  • Directly supports the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and team by writingand editing policy, presentations, talking points, information papers, meeting agendas, minutes and other written products on a wide variety of topics in engaging ways using appropriate technology.
  • Provide communication support via writingand editing expertise to Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and team for special projects and assignments on a wide variety of subject matters with audiences at the highest level of senior leadership.
  • Work with SMEs across the Division to create, curate and share a variety of content, including organizational learning, organizational health and training and development materials that support knowledge management and continued workforce development.
Documentation and Communication
  • Work in conjunction with the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and team to administer knowledge management activities that support overall retention of Mission-critical and Mission-enabling information, including documenting, sharing and updating knowledge within and across the enterprise.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and design products that distill key knowledge, capabilities and processes.
  • Create innovative products and delivery channels to communicate Mission-critical and Mission-enabling knowledge.
  • Analyze feedback and evaluation data gathered from workforce initiatives and proposes communication and delivery channels for implementing improvements based on the data.
Communication Platforms
  • Manage the Division communication platforms including SharePoint and Teams to ensure ongoing support for knowledge management of administrative, human capital, diversity, equity, & inclusion, wellness, and other related information.
  • Develop, host, facilitate and prepare online and in-person events to engage EDA staff about Administrative and workforce updates.
  • Develop content - videos, infographics, briefs, charts, etc. - for keeping communication platforms and channels up to date.
Program Analysis and Coordination
  • Coordinate and analyze Administrative Division programs to ensure the full team, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and senior leaders are apprised of core operational aspects and priorities.
  • Analyze tracking and progress for a variety of knowledge management, communications and workforce management and development, as well as supporting Offices across the enterprise to analyze and communicate complex information into plain language for all EDA staff to have the information the need, when they need it, to accomplish the agency's Mission.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify at the GS-12 level:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience:

  • Developing, evaluating, and integrating various communication and engagement activities into a unified communication plan that facilitates the achievement of broad administrative objectives.
  • Planning, designing, conducting, and evaluating the communication and of other programs to improve agency productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of Communication as well as to resolve problems.
  • Establishing criteria to measure and/or predict the attainment of assigned program goals and objectives.
  • Developing video content and editing.

Additional information

Background Investigation: This position is designated as Non-sensitive/Low Risk and requires that a background investigation be conducted and favorably adjudicated in order to establish security eligibility.Please note this position is being filled under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Employees will be hired under ARPA's Hiring Authority as a Schedule A employee under the Excepted Service for a period not-to-exceed two (2) years.
