As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER (TITLE 32), GS-0343-14, you will serve as the principle advisor on all matters of logistics functions within the JFHQ less aviation support activities and those functions which fall under the purview of the USPFO.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:

  • Develop policies, prepare budgets, and prioritize logistics requirements to meet mission goals and objectives.
  • The DCSLOG/G4 plans, programs, coordinates and directs the activities of logistics functions that include supply, services, maintenance and transportation.
  • Manage a large wage grade work force located in maintenance shops throughout the state.
  • Plan for adequate supply and maintenance facilities.
  • Establishes and adjusts long range and short range plans for the development and improvement of logistics programs, ensuring that plans meet mission requirements and incorporate latest technological advances.
  • Oversee and monitor planning and implementation of comprehensive logistics programs for sustainment of highly complex, fielded, or planned fielding of new systems, integrating separate functions into logistics activities needed to sustain fielding.
  • Develop State regulatory policy and procedural guidance to assist in the establishment of logistics support throughout state.
  • Responsible for logistical mobilization and readiness planning.
  • Administer a maintenance program that involves a variety of facilities with varying levels and complexity of support capability.
  • Supervise directorate through subordinate supervisors.

  • Current National Guard Membership in the IL ARNG required.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

MILITARY GRADE:Officer Only - Minimum Rank O-5 - Must be eligible for promotion to O-6 NLT 1 October 2023; Maximum Rank O-6.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in administrative, professional, investigative, technical or other responsible work which demonstrates analytical ability and a practical and theoretical knowledge of the functions, processes and principles of management. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-14 Level - Must possess at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-13 level or equivalent. Must have at least 36 months experience which provided a detailed knowledge of the National Guard organizational structures, functions, procedures and techniques. Experience analyzing and interpreting policies and the procedures of higher headquarters/management as to applicability to current policies. Experience presenting and discussing complex matters in a clear and convincing manner. Experience in communicating with people from various backgrounds and circumstances. Must possess supervisory experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Education

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience in this position.
