Duties

Help

This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau,Assistant Administrator-Field Operations/Tax Audit Division.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-09. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Maintain and insure that proper Field Operations administrative policies and business practices are followed. Identifies specific problems relating to budget planning and implementation.
  • Monitor and tracks the field office budget, credit card usage, procurements and services, and reconciles account balances.
  • Prepare Field Office Budget Reports for review by District Directors.
  • Develop and recommend to District Director work methods that will improve management processes and administrative procedures used by all employees within the Field Office.
  • Provide administrative guidance to all field office employees.

This position is 100% telework. The incumbent must reside within 100 miles of Cincinnati, OH prior to the effective date.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

-Collecting, analyzing and summarizing evidence to support conclusions; AND
-Researching laws, regulations, guidelines, and approved procedures to support or develop findings; AND
-Writing report based on data analysis.


OR You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows:
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

Combination of Experience and Education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education

Specialized Experience For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

OR You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows:

You may qualify based solely on education as follows: 1 year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement based on a bachelor's degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class); grade point average (3.0/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major), or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society .

OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

You may qualify on a combination of education and experience.
