Help

As a Information Technology Specialist (APPSW) (Platform Architect), you will:

  • Lead or direct large and complex technology implementations that are of high, bureau-wide impact, and involve complex integrations and diverse technologies, technical teams, and business units.
  • Direct the technical strategy, implementation, architecture, and operations for one or more enterprise platforms and is accountable for its reliability, delivery, ongoing operations, and technical evolution.
  • Manage platform integrations and develop integration strategies.
  • Lead the establishment of an enterprise platform product strategy, and implementation of service and product plans, including setting and adjusting priorities.

Key Requirements:
  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for CN-60: To qualify at CN-60, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade/band (CN-53, GS-13 or equivalent) in the Federal service. For this position specialized experience is defined as:

- Managing the deployment and maintenance of enterprise platforms (i.e., Salesforce, O365, ServiceNow) and applications; AND
- Providing technical direction and resolving problems among product teams, developers, and platform administrators; AND
- Leading teams of contractors and supports cross-functional teams throughout an IT organization.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications and Rating: If you meet the eligibility, specialized experience requirements, and IT related experience, you will be further required to participate in an simulation exercise to determine qualifications and ranking.
