As a THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-2101-9/11, you will provide advanced technical, instructional, and training support to upgrade skills to obtain maximum performance on all aspects of the Air Operations Center force level weapons system.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:

  • Evaluate formal training directives, and develop course changes, new material, new training systems, and methods.
  • Review and ensure compliance with directives, regulations, reports, and operationally specific publications.
  • Manage all technical aspects of datalink interfaces in order to provide accurate and consolidated air picture.
  • Prepare required training records.
  • Determine progress and proficiency levels, provide requalification evaluations, and direct/provide specialized remedial or additional training as necessary.
  • Perform as instructor and/or examiner, evaluating and examining AOC personnel to determine preparation for the application of aerospace force/operations.
  • Assist in the collection , review and dissemination of data on tactics and employment techniques for all weapons system.
  • Assist in the interpretation, coordination, and conduct of planning and execution of higher headquarters' contingency and exercise campaign guidance.
  • Support and assist the development of briefings and mission preparations including: combat planning, weather factors, mission objectives, and other agency coordination to ensure effective mission execution.
  • Project enlisted unit training requirements.
  • Assist in the planning and development of instruction on AOC operations skills.
  • Monitor progress during training and advises when personnel are ready for positional certification.
  • Interview assigned personnel to determine operational background in their respective weapons systems/specialties.
  • Instruct and evaluate assigned technical personnel in advanced aerospace operations applications.
  • Instruct and evaluate enlisted AOC specialties to become instructors.
  • Administer refresher and advanced training to technical personnel.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:

  • The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
  • The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
  • The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
  • The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
  • The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.

Military Grades: Enlisted: Not to exceed CSMgt

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures; experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which include at least 36 months experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions; receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution; experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. GS-09 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which include at least 24 months experience, education, or training in mission planning for preflight, in-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions; receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution; experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.

In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.
