As a IT SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING/ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE), GS-2210-11 you will serve as a Senior technical advisor to local installation information technology (IT) users in the area of policy and plan, Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) and mission assurance as related to IT systems. Serves as a member of the Sector's Cyber Incident Response Team responsible for assuring the availability of National Defense mission systems. Also, assists in enhancing cyberspace capabilities to defend national interests from attack and to create effects in the cyberspace domain to achieve national objectives.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance (Special Compartmented Information), as required by duty location.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Qualifications

EDUCATION OR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Major study--computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or engineering, or course work that required the development or adaptation of computer programs and systems and provided knowledge equivalent to a major in the computer field.

OR

Experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques. For example, assignments would show, on the basis of general design criteria provided, experience in developing modifications to parts of a system that required significant revisions in the logic or techniques used in the original development. Accomplishments, in addition to those noted for the GS-9 level, normally involve the following, or the equivalent:

  • Knowledge of the customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization;
  • Planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; and
  • Adaptation of guidelines or precedents to the needs of the assignment.

You must provide OFFICIAL transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Additional information

Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. In accordance with DoD 8570, Mandatory Certification of "GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)" and/or "Certified Information System Security Professional" (CISSP), or equivalent DoD 8570 Management Level II certification is required. If Certification is not held, must obtain within six months from initial hiring. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.

Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered for this position. TAG is final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90 day break in service).
