About the Position:

Conduct research, as part of a multi-discipline team, on the effects of environmental factors on infrastructure resilience.
Assist in producing analytic methods and evaluation of infrastructure vulnerabilities to environmental factors.
Assist developing recommendations to senior decision makers on the results of the research.
Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research, for example prepare papers for publication, prepare and present findings in professional fora, as required.
Mentor and assist, as appropriate and as directed, Army War College students, Fellows, or interns.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Must be available for employment before 1 August 2023.
Must be willing and able to travel (domestic and/or international) up to 20% of the time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):. Applicants will be rated based on the criteria listed below by a panel of subject matter experts appointed with the purpose of identifying the best- qualified candidates.
1. Terminal degree in the respective field from an accredited institution, achieved no earlier than five years prior to the date of this announcement is preferred. Candidates within six months of completing the degree may be considered. The terminal degree should be in a discipline relevant to this research effort - a focus on engineering, science and infrastructure resilience is preferred.
2. Demonstrated potential for high-quality research and analysis, writing and presentation that bridges the gap between theory and practice.
3. Evidence of the potential to communicate effectively with diverse audiences of practitioners, graduate students, scientists, and faculty from other domains of expertise.
4. Ability to work collegially with diverse (military, civilian, international) graduate students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
5. Ability to coach graduate students in the production of innovative scholarship.
