Summary

This position is located in the Contraction/Facility Maintenance Office, Community Support Programs (CSP), Navy Region Southwest. The incumbent reports directly to the Construction/Maintenance Supervisor. Primary purpose of this position is to assist with facilities support; administering and performing staff work; operational safety/environmental compliance, administration of maintenance and repairs of all facilities and equipment supporting CSP program.

Duties

Help

  • The incumbent assists the Construction/Maintenance Supervisor in developing, analyzing, evaluating and advising on financial and administrative tasks related to the CSP Operations.
  • Screens, assigns priorities and records all department work requests and special project assignments to be accomplished through Public Works Department or in-house CSP resources.
  • Provides program status and analysis services and maintains liaison with Public Works, CSP Project Managers and CSP in-house supervisors to ensure updated and accurate reporting system data.
  • Prepares and submits travel requests.
  • Assists in preparing and reviewing travel claims.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records for all travel requirements within the department.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed tracking of all projects and maintenance costs for the region.
  • Provides monthly budget and status reports on all projects.
  • Performs planning and estimating tasks, specification and costs estimates for work requests or special projects submissions.
  • Performs tasks associated with the set up and installation of information systems.
  • Coordinates a comprehensive fire prevention, security and safety program to promote occupant comfort personnel safety and asset protection within the Department.

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • May be required to travel up to 30% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years working in a construction environment.
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials
  • Minimum three (3) years combined experience in construction, accounting, payroll, contracts, travel, and procurement.
  • Knowledge and ability to conduct studies and gather information.
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of data calls, program plans and proposals.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and directives.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication, sufficient to prepare findings and recommend solutions.
  • Knowledge of information systems.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to utilize a computes, Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, Project, PowerPoint etc.), and other computer related to procurement, accounting and time keeping.
