Duties

Help
  • Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.
  • Establish deadlines and priorities based of work schedules and policies established by higher levels of supervision.
  • Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures; instruct subordinates in the new procedures; and provide advice when problems arise.
  • Review in-progress and completed work for adequate quantity and quality.
  • Maintain production reports and records.
  • Identify employee training needs and initiate recommendations to provide necessary training.
  • Operate the full range of gasoline and diesel powered vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Motor Vehicle Operator Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Ability to lead or supervise. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: skill in workforce planning, training and employee development, administrative and employee management, and operation of motor vehicles. Prioritize workload based off future deadlines, identifying training needs, and operating the full range of gasoline and diesel powered vehicles. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
  • Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation)
  • Ability To Lead or Supervise
  • Knowledge of switches, hand/lamp signals, and coal stock piles
  • Operation of Motor Vehicles
  • Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order)

Physical Effort: Frequently required to stand, stoop, bend and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Operate hand and foot controls when driving forklifts and motor vehicles. Required to lift and carry supplies, material and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

???????Working Conditions: Work is performed on concrete floors and in drafty areas, occasional working outdoors during inclement weather. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acid which may result in bruises, cuts, skin irritation and burns. Wearing of hearing and safety equipment required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.???????
