Duties

Help

The Supervisory Production Controller supervises a staff of Production Controllers in the Work Management Group

In this position, you will:

  • Develop, implement and monitor SF Production Plans.
  • Develop final decisions for planning packages, work instructions, safety plans, work schedules, and use of resources.
    Document site conditions and collects asset information and identifies all job-related requirements.
  • Develop master plans for operations, maintenance and constructions implementation, fabrication plans, procurement lists of products and materials.
  • Discuss problem areas with concerned personnel and provides technical assistance.
  • Provide technical advice and recommends alternative solutions to various project/problems, techniques, and local policy.
  • Research, learn and apply a wide range of qualitive and/or quantitative methods to identify, analyze and improve effectiveness, efficiency and quality.
  • Provide overall technical and administrative management and direction for the group.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service.  For this position, specialized experience is defined developing maintenance plans and schedules for skilled trades in a facilities environment; mentoring and developing others performing maintenance planning and scheduling as it applies to maintenance, construction, safety and environmental practices; and leading facilities maintenance and scheduling activities.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.

  • Ability to develop plans and schedules for detailed work packages used in maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Skill in assessing complex electrical and mechanical systems from work site visits, survey analysis in order to develop detailed maintenance instructions and information.
  • Ability to communicate in writing to develop master plans for operations, maintenance and construction implementations.
  • Ability to communicate orally to discuss problem areas and provide technical advice and recommendations.
  • Skill in using scheduling software, such as Computerized Maintenance Management System/Enterprise Asset Management Systems and associated libraries used in maintenance planning and scheduling functions.
  • Ability to supervise a diverse staff, while maintaining effective and productive interpersonal relationships with subordinates, superiors and peers.
