Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a Senior Human Resources Specialist and Team Leader.
  • Provide comprehensive HR management advisory and technical services.
  • Accurately input data into human resource systems to effect personnel actions.
  • Access automated systems to obtain information required to effect changes in personnel records and perform quality review of team's work.
  • Balance a broad range of projects or tasks simultaneously to effectively manage team workload.
  • Respond to complex questions from managers regarding classification procedures.
  • Provide position management and classification support to assigned organizations under various personnel systems.
  • Provide a variety of difficult management advisory services affecting highly complex organizations with a wide variety of difficult position and personnel actions which are often sensitive and difficult in nature.
  • Identify changes in policies to determine potential impacts on established human resources programs.
  • Resolve difficult issues/problems requiring consideration of the total human resource management program.
  • Advise on the full range of life cycle functions and assist management in accomplishing their human resource management responsibilities.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Serving as a multi-functional Human Resources Specialist in classification and staffing with independent responsibility for providing advice and guidance on a wide range of civilian personnel actions; 2) Developing assessment tools for evaluating job applicants against qualification standards; 3) Utilizing automated talent acquisition tool, such as USA Staffing to develop vacancy announcements and issue referral certificates for specialized/hard to fill positions; and 4) Conducting quality review of civilian human resources personnel work in recruitment, staffing and coding actions for compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
