Carry out full range of complex epidemiologic and surveillance activities.
Provide technical consultation and assistance to Federal, State, local and other health agencies concerning various complex epidemiology projects.
Identify and analyze public health issues and their impact on public policies or scientific studies or surveys.
Assist in writing of comprehensive statistical and analytic reports or continuing projects.
Participate in the syntheses of social and epidemiologic data to be applied toward designing effective prevention programs and practice guidelines.
Work with public health officials and other scientists inside and outside of the CDC to ensure that valid research and findings are disseminated, used and applied to prevention programs.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor's or graduate/high level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences appropriate to work of the position. The degree must be from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in coordinating and conducting epidemiological studies / and or surveillance activities to identify and analyze public health issues and their impact on public policies or scientific studies/surveys.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education completed in colleges or universities outside the United States may be used to meet the education requirements.
