As a Policy Advisor in the Federal Insurance Office, you will be involved in research, writing, and analysis related policy proposals impacting the insurance sector. This could include work on climate-related financial risk, insurance supervision/regulation, the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program, life insurance and retirement markets, and cyber insurance.

All candidates who are: Current or former federal employees qualifying as Status Candidates, Federal employees currently serving on a VRA, VEOA eligibles, CTAP/ICTAP eligibles, eligible for special hiring authorities (e.g., the Schedule A appointment for persons with disabilities, or covered by an Interchange Agreement), or Land Management employees eligible under Public Law 114-47.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Monitor developments relating to the insurance sector, re/insurers and other stakeholders in the insurance sector, and financial stability, and related legislative, regulatory and policy developments.
Conduct research on a wide range of issues related to Domestic Finance with an insurance focus, including financial research, legal research, and regulatory and policy developments.
Summarize findings and research in written products of various types, including tables, charts, short summaries, as well as longer memos, presentations and reports.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-14 LEVEL: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes experience with at least TWO of the following:
A. Primary author of written analyses or summaries (such as memoranda, reports, briefs, articles, presentations, or charts) regarding either:
-The economic, financial, legal, or policy issues associated with the U.S. insurance sector; or
