THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1634000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.

The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders in accomplishing the work of the Propulsion Element and to perform associated non-supervisory work.

Duties

Help

(1) Planning. Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Establishesdeadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies.
(2) Work Direction. Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures.
(3) Administration. Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Schedules and approves leave of subordinates.
(4) Performs the non-supervisory work of the Propulsion Element.
(5) Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
(6) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
(7) Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must hold the grade of E-7 or E-8.
  • Compatible Military Assignment: 2A671 or 2A691.

  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-7 or E-8

Compatible Military Assignments: 2A671 or 2A691

1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below.

3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience.

You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories.
2. Experience performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft.
3. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.
4. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.
5. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
6. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.
7. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
