As an ELECTRONIC RECORDS POLICY ANALYST, you will:

  • Serve as a senior specialist and technical expert in electronic records management standards, file format sustainability, metadata, and policy.
  • Advise and instruct Federal agencies and NARA staff on appropriate electronic records management policies, procedures, and techniques that have no precedents.
  • Evaluate and analyze international, national, and institutional standards for records management, metadata, and file formats for their suitability for use in a Federal records management context.
  • Manage strategies and communications related to the external Federal records management community by producing a wide variety of written material for dissemination both within NARA and government-wide, including (but not limited to): FAQs, white papers, blogs, published articles, training materials, PowerPoint presentations with accompanying speakers notes.

The experience may have been gained in either the public sector, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position is defined as:

  • Experience developing records management guidance and ensuring guidance is implemented; AND
  • Experience developing and communicating briefing materials on electronic records management; AND
  • Experience independently carrying out electronic records management projects.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
