Duties

Help
  • Acts as an instrumentation engineering consultant to investigators at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC).
  • Designs and fabricates new biomedical instrumentation from raw materials or components.
  • Initiates original biomedical research projects and/or participates in the development of research goals.
  • Adapts standard equipment for special uses in research projects.
  • Initiates and assists in the writing of technical reports concerning the results obtained from research projects.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug testing, and random testing thereafter.
  • Requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • Subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reason.
  • Mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service which includes Developing research projects and reports; Adapting standard equipment for measuring medical data; and Devising methods to troubleshoot medical monitoring systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Education
