Duties

Help
  • You will organize, plan and select video scenes, stock footage, artwork while combining with narration and music.
  • You will produce properly sequenced and highly professional video conforming to broadcast standards.
  • You will perform off-line non-linear editing and utilize Edit Decision List (EDL).
  • You will determine approprite angel camera shots under the guidance of a Producer/Director, to capture scene professionally.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.

Qualifications

For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Planning or executing audiovisual productions that visualize instructions tactics, techniques, training, briefs, and other information services.
  • Utilizing the processes, methodologies, personnel, equipment, and related requirements involved in planning and carrying out the stages necessary to produce audiovisual productions, develop and coordinate video crew and talent schedules, and make administrative and logistical arrangements.
  • Producing audiovisual products using many different production methods and techniques in a medical healthcare environment.
  • Utilizing audio-visual talent and special effects, such as casting lists music libraries, stock footage, and post­production services, to acquire the elements needed for a completed audiovisual production.
  • Preparing and operating plan, identifying proposed locales, personnel, equipment requirements, special effects, sets, talent, wardrobe, etc.
  • Utilizing program objectives and directing skills to direct the production activities of a small television production crew and cast. Operates video cameras, switchers, character-generators, non­linear computer editing systems, lighting equipment and remote controlled cameras.
  • Coordinating with production personnel to ensure proper lighting, blocking, framing, camera angles, sound and effects.
  • Managing the Set-up and operations of audio public address equipment.

Education

For GS-11 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR
LL.M., with major study in photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.

* Must be willing to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
* May be required to work aboard surface vessels and or submarines while underway on trial runs or regular operations.
