Duties

Help
  • Mowing grass using powered walking type lawn mower.
  • Cutting weeds using hand or powered weed cutters.
  • Clearing lawn and grounds under and around buildings and work area of foreign materials and disposes of materials as directed.
  • Load and unload trucks or other conveyances.
  • Operate electrical and non-electrical tools (screwdrivers, drills, hammers, handsaws, etc.)
  • Operate a Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) in order to drive to various work sites.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety devices properly in order to protect self and others from injury.

  • Position requires wear of uniform and/or protective gear.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Laborer without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common clearing of lawn and grounds under and around buildings and work area of foreign materials and dispose of materials as directed and mowing grass using powered walking type lawn mower, cut weeds using hand or powered weed cutters and trim shrubbery. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Screen Out
  • Physical Effort: Exerts moderately heavy physical effort in frequently lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds and in pushing heavily loaded conveyances. Occasionally lifts heavier objects. Is subject to continuous walking, bending, stooping and reaching.
  • Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors and outdoors involving exposure to temperature extremes. Is exposed to noise, dust and dirt and possibility of bruises, cuts and scrapes.
