Duties

Help

  • Collect data, generate and analyze data trends, develop charts that enable the organization to make data driven decisions.
  • Conduct workforce analysis (Onboards, New Hires, Attrition) and present data scorecards to leadership on a quarterly basis and as needed.
  • Identify underrepresentation in diversity data scorecards and other diversity reports to develop new action plans for outreach and recruitment such as women in law enforcement, veterans, diverse women, and other demographics.
  • Provide an DEIA assessment with surfacing insights about diversity in DHS' workforce composition, and identifying practices that may limit diversity and build on baseline data provided by the DEIA initiative on the status of DEIA within DHS
  • Use survey software to create training course surveys, collect and analyze the survey results, and prepare data visualization based on the analysis.
  • Prepare, create and deliver data visualization including presentation decks that are visually appealing and convey relevant data in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.
  • Manages and grants resume mining access to DHS HR specialists, hiring managers, and personnel users to access the OPM's Agency Talent Portal
  • Serve as subject matter expert of recruitment and hiring efforts targeting individuals with disabilities and individuals with targeted disabilities (IWDs/IWTDs)
  • Support with logistical needs for all "DHS is Hiring" webinars as requested by National Recruiting Advisor
  • Support particular inclusive & diversity and recruitment programs with logistical and administrative needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications required:

  1. Solid working knowledge of data analytical tools such as Excel, Tableau, SharePoint, PowerBI, FedScope, and other statistical analysis tools that will enable data mining for insights.
  2. Communicate effectively and work well in both independent and team settings in order to effectively engage others to foster innovative approaches from the data analysis to improve program management and decision making.
  3. Fundamental knowledge of DEIA, recruitment, and employee engagement principles.
  4. Collaborate with key internal partners and external stakeholders to inform multiple quantitative and qualitative analysis of data reports.
  5. Ability to identify relevant trends and patterns and make recommendations to improve processes.
  6. Create visual data presentations and briefings for the senior management and regularly communicate these findings, both in written form and oral presentations.

If the position requires a security clearance, employees must have a SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance to placement AND must maintain that level of clearance while performing in the position.

Selected applicants for a JDA are requested to fulfill the items below during the JDA:

  1. Complete the DHS Training Course 15 days prior to the arrival to the JDA.
  2. Complete the DHS Joint Duty Assignment Progress Plan to include:
    • Phase 1: Establish assignment objectives within the first 30 days of the JDA.
    • Phase 2: Complete a self-assessment of the duties performed at the mid-point of the JDA.
    • Phase 3: Complete a final review within the last 30 days of the JDA.
