Duties

Help
  • Physical Security. Represents HQ as an expert on assigned physical security program elements and projects.
  • Personnel Security (PERSEC). Develops and recommends personnel security policies, directives, and implements PERSEC guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory guidance.
  • Information Security. Develops policies, procedures, and directives for storage, transmission, marking, and destruction of classified information as well as investigations of suspected compromise.
  • Operations Security. Implements HQ OPSEC Program establishing OPSEC objectives, policies, and procedures by interpreting higher headquarters/installation OPSEC policies.
  • Industrial Security. Provides oversight of the industrial security program for numerous facility locations at the PEOs that have different complex security systems and programs.
  • Administer and conduct Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Access (SCI) indoctrinations and debriefings.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Access (SCI) or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SC security clearance/access.
  • Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level which includes 1) extensive knowledge and experience developing security policies; 2) extensive knowledge and experience in preparing for a security compliance inspection; and 3) extensive knowledge in physical security and protection as demonstrated by recognized certification programs (e.g. emergency management, locksmith, anti-terrorism). This is a pay banded position.

The NH-03 band encompasses grades 12 and 13 under the General Schedule (GS) system.
