This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the DC Army National Guard.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the minimum military rank as specified in this announcement. The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

Minimum Military Rank: E-2/PVT
Maximum Military Rank: E-5/SGT

Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One (1) year of appointment.


DUTIES

  • Serves as a consultant and authority to the Logistics Chief.
  • Reviews all mobility, contingency, Emergency War and exercise plans
    affecting logistics and evaluates requirements in relation to
    capabilities and tasking.
  • Writes and edits local instructions concerning the position's area
    of responsibility
  • Meets with the logistics chief, staff members, and supervisors to
    inform of requirements, tasks and changes as they occur, and advises
    personnel of their responsibilities.\
  • Formulates the annual logistics operating budget and DLR O&M budget
    for the logistics division for inclusion in the base financial plan
  • Plans and anticipates allotment of logistics operating funds and DLR
    O&M funds for the logistics organization
  • Analyzes logistics operating and DLR O&M funding provided and
    ensures quarterly allotment to maintenance is adequate to meet
    projected requirements
  • Controls the workday accounting program for logistics and tracks
    usage and requirements for the fiscal year.
  • Controls and monitors logistics manning authorizations and personnel
    assignments for civilian and military personnel.
  • Controls and monitors the operation and logistics of the personnel subsystem of the CAMS.
  • Monitors the logistics security program to include tracking the
    issuance of security clearances, establishment of special security
    clearances, and establishment of special security.
  • Controls the facilities management program in the logistics
    division. Serves as liaison to civil engineering regarding facilities
    logistics, repair and renovation
  • Reviews logistics mobility equipment lists and personnel rosters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MILITARY RANK:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgement and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:Must have at least Twenty-four (24) months experience, education, or training involving detailed knowledge or organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e, supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities.) Experience integrating actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to meet program goals. Experience interpreting and applying regulations, laws or practices. Experience planning and organizing work assignments.

Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirement (6 months credit).

Selected Reserve Incentive Program: Acceptance of this position will cause termination of Federal bonuses pursuant to respective Selected Reserve Incentive Programs (SRIP). This termination may be with or without recoupment of payments already made.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military rank and assignment in the District of Columbia Army National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
